For the financial sector
Carbon credits for financial reporting and ESG portfolios
For corporate finance, sustainability/ESG and investment teams evaluating carbon credits for financial reporting or portfolio purposes.
Insetting vs. offsetting
Two routes to climate accounting
Offsetting
With offsetting, a company compensates its CO₂ emissions outside its own value chain (for example: a software company buys our credits to compensate their server emissions).
Insetting
With insetting, the emissions are reduced and compensated within the company's own sector or supply chain (for example: a construction company that uses our wooden foundations in their own projects to reduce their direct construction emissions and remove CO₂).
Underground Forest serves both needs.
ESG reporting
Certified and safe for your ESG reporting
We issue exclusively ex-post credits, meaning the CO₂ has already actually been captured before the credit is issued. Our projects are certified by Rainbow and independently verified by Normec.
